We’re currently in what I like to call the Chameleon Era for celebrity hair. Between wigs and bleach and willing scissor-wielding stylists, stars from every area of entertainment have been switching up their looks so much, it can be hard to keep up. But while famous folks like Megan Thee Stallion and Florence Pugh keep us on our hair-watching toes, there are still a handful of celebs who stick to one thing that works for them, like Jennifer Lopez and her golden highlights.
But wait — what’s this? Did Jennifer Lopez just stray from her usual warm blondeness?
Lopez posted a carousel of photos to her Instagram grid on Monday, May 9, in which she’s posing for several mirror selfies. “It’s Monday 🤍 #LetsGetIt,” she wrote in the caption, completely glossing over the fact that her hair looks significantly darker than it usually does. The middle-parted, layered style appears to be a medium brunette shade closer to her natural color.
In the photos that follow, we can see that Lopez’s hair is definitely still highlighted, albeit not the way it normally is. Instead of the warm, golden blonde we’re accustomed to seeing on the superstar, she’s showing off a much cooler-toned color. It’s unclear if hairstylist Andrew Fitzsimons, who styled her hair for what appears to be a JLo Beauty shoot, also colored it for the occasion, but bravo nonetheless.
