This New Colourpop 1977 ‘Star Wars’ Makeup Is the Collaboration You’re Looking For – Photos

May is a special time for Star Wars fans. Aside from providing the opportunity to not even remotely surprise anyone by saying “May the fourth be with you” today, this month marks the premiere of the new Obi-Wan Kenobi series, and it’s also the 45th anniversary of the movie that started it all in 1977. So what better month — and day — than this for Colourpop to launch its new makeup collection inspired by Star Wars IV: A New Hope?

Colourpop is no stranger to collaborations with Lucasfilm Ltd. In addition to products inspired by The Mandalorian, has already shown its love for vintage Star Wars with a Darth Vader palette. But the new collection takes a deeper beauty dive into the original film with products focused primarily on lips and eyes.

The centerpiece of the eye products — and arguably the collection as a whole — is the Star Wars Pressed Powder Palette ($24). With packaging featuring imagery from the original movie poster, it houses 15 shades that reflect a balance between the light side and the dark side. In addition to neutrals, metallics, blues, and reds, the palettes also includes the brand’s Tie Dye Super Shock and Duo Chrome finishes.
